"the Drums" of The Drums

(1 CD Cooperative Music)

They are young, beautiful kids. They have a look of hell (adoubé by Hedi Slimane). They are American. They have formed a pop group called "the Drums". And their album is called "the Drums". It is clear water (before the black tide), brilliant as the Florida Sun. Idiots, these young cultured people assume their references "fifties" or "eighties" and make up with art - their first "tube", "Let's go surfing", which served as a "gimmick" in the "Grand Journal" of Canal is the brilliant demonstration. Somewhere between the Beach Boys and Joy Division, ECHO, nimbées, Tuneful songs are cycled through with laziness and grace. A melancholy seized the listener who has printing to capture something of time passing and youth who constantly celebrated.

"sex dreams and denim Jeans" of Uffie

(1 CD Because)

Like the novels of beach invading booksellers days come, it could now disk range. And this "Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans" of the American from Florida Uffie is a perfect example. It is ideal for an afternoon by the sea, between sunscreen and "ice cream". For the rest, it is not sure that this CD spends the summer. These 14 dancing titles are served by the beautiful world, yet: Pharrell Williams flirted with Uffie on "add suv", producers like Mr. Oizo or Mirwais provide. Two pieces primarily make raises the temperature, the irresistible "neu neu" and "Ricky". However, the maid, now installed in Paris, rate its resumption of "Hong Kong Gardens" punk tube of Siouxsie & The Banshees. It seems that Uffie would be the symbol of the Decade, oscillating between rap and électro-rock. Must be quickly found another cruise for the 2011 year surf speed. On stage, the Lady convinces more. It will also be most beautiful festivals, Montreux sonar. Vacation for Miss Uffie step

"In the belly of the crocodile" from Peter Punk

(1 CD naive)

Behind this project UFO of a welcome freshness lies Disiz, one of the safe of the French hip-hop. Confess straight wanting to escape from her confined world, "reclaiming the territories forgotten my imagination, explore the elsewhere and reconcile my story poles." Mission accomplished with "in the belly of the crocodile", an album that is looking to electro bricolée, or even African rhythmic ("trans-mauritania", the best piece of the CD). Almost rock (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah), but still funny and serious at the time in his texts, Peter Punk is the pure – phrasé his Disiz especially – but in constant research. At a time when American rappers such as Kanye West dare cleared new sound territories, this Peter Punk is a good new made in France.

"Music" of Ronnie Lynn Paterson

(1 CD Out Note Records/Harmonia mundi)

A light touch, a sense of innate swing, the imagination at your fingertips: these are the main qualities of American pianist Ronnie Lynn Paterson. In the company of brothers Moutin (François doublebass) and Louis to the battery, he formed a trio of air. Paterson adventure in known Earth: here exclusively interpretation standards ("All Blues", "Evidence", "blue In Green", "Lazy Bird"...). It does not reinventing them as might be Keith Jarrett (although sometimes Paterson evokes the master), or in an opposite manner, Martial Solal. It gives them a new lustre. In descent but totally emancipated, Ronnie Lynn Paterson is part of a certain classicism of the jazz piano and, offers a timeless music, we listen and replay with pleasure.

"colbran, the Muse" by Gioachino Rossini, Joyce DiDonato (mezzo-soprano), Orchestra and choir of the Académie Sainte-Cécile Rome, Edoardo Müller (branch)

(1 CD Virgin Classics)

Colbran is Isabella Colbran (1785-1845), Spanish singer, star of the theatre San Carlo of Naples that Rossini married after him writing several roles on measurement. This recital brings together therefore extracts of operas written in Italy such as "Elisabeth, Queen of England", "Semiramide" and "Armide". Of course, there are the inevitable roucoulades and large gaps that claimed the public and that the composer willingly offered. Joyce DiDonato, by its slaughter, his sovereign technique, will fill spins fans beyond their expectations. And as Edoardo Müller leads with energy and the chic necessary, exercise is never dark in riotously vulgarity. But more than a demonstration athletic and probative, the American mezzo-soprano offers especially a large number of Sung drama where expression and meaning of the text are always magnifiés. This is a good way to become familiar with the artist before going to cheer him to the Opera Garnier in "The Lady of the Lake" of Rossini from 14 June.
