(Reporting by Haitham Haddadin; Editing by John Picinich) Stocks. Week 12 produced some pretty strong performances from the tight end position, but none were more appreciated than the efforts by Antonio Gates and Jason Witten , who both played like the dominating tight ends we all fell in love with. Against the Kansas City Chiefs , Gates hauled in seven passes for 118 yards and two scores for a fantasy, fantasy performance of 23 fantasy points. Witten, meanwhile, recorded his first 100-yard day on the year with five catches for 107 yards on Thanksgiving day against the Oakland Raiders. PhiladelphiaGonzalez has been outstanding over the past two weeks, catching a total of 17 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown, and he has an opportunity to put up more huge numbers this week, even with Matt Ryan out. His opponent, the Eagles, have allowed the most receptions (70), second-most receiving yards (747), and second-most touchdowns (tied with seven) to opposing tight ends in the league Point Projection: 14 points 2 Dallas Clark (Indianapolis Colts) vs.
TennesseeAfter a two-week dry spell, as far as receptions are concerned, in which he only caught a total of five passes, Clark rebounded last week with nine catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. He has now caught a touchdown in two straight games, and in his last game against this week’s opponent, the Titans, Clark had nine receptions for 77 yards. Look for similar production this week, but throw in a touchdown reception for good measure Point Projection: 13 points 3. Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers) ClevelandAfter a very quiet six games starting in Week Six, in which Gates did not accumulate more than seven fantasy points in any contest, he broke out of it last week with seven receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns. This week, against the Browns, he has a chance to do more good things. The Browns are not proficient against opposing tight ends as only six NFL teams have allowed more touchdown passes to them than Cleveland has Point Projection: 12 points 4.

Vernon Davis (San Francisco 49ers) SeattleDavis continued his breakout season with six catches for 69 yards and one touchdown last week against the Jaguars; it was his second consecutive game with a touchdown reception. And, though he had one of his least productive games in his last meeting with the Seahawks, back in Week Two, that was with a different quarterback under center. In the six games since Alex Smith took over, Davis has had at least 100 yards or a touchdown catch (or both) in all but one contest Point Projection: 12 points 5. One of the biggest disappointments of the fantasy season, Witten finally had his first 100-yard game of the season on Thanksgiving last week. It was his first game since Week Three with at least 70 receiving yards, and his only game with at least 80. But, the Giants are ripe for being taken advantage of by Witten. He scored his only touchdown of the season against them in Week Two, and they have allowed opposing tight ends the second-most touchdown catches (tied with seven), third-most receptions (tied-60), and fifth-most receiving yards (652) in the league Point Projection: : 11 points 6.
Brent Celek (Philadelphia Eagles) Atlanta CHECK INJURY STATUSCelek has easily become one of Donovan McNabb’s favorite targets, leading the team last week with nine targets. This week, with DeSean Jackson possibly out, and a sweet match-up, he has a chance to put up solid totals. The one concern fantasy owners should have with Celek is his sprained thumb, but until it proves to hinder the tight end, employ him as normal Point Projection: 11 points 7 Greg Olsen (Chicago Bears) vs St. LouisOlsen led the Bears in receptions (seven), receiving yards (45), and targets (eight) last week against the Minnesota Vikings. The numbers are certainly underwhelming, but it’s clear that Jay Cutler has an affinity for the Miami product Olsen has a solid match-up this week against the St. Louis Rams , and with the lack of other receiving options in Chicago’s stable, Olsen is a good play on a weekly basis Point Projection: 10 points 8.
